Microsoft Outlook is not showing User Lync status

Cause – Lync Presence Icons Not Showing in Outlook since you might have another Collaboration Service installed on your system (like Awaya) or the registry key DefaultIMApp is  incorrect.

Solution –

step 1 – Open Registry editor (start -> run -> regedit) -> go  to HCUSoftwareIM ProvidersDefaultIMApp

Step 2-  Change the DefaultIMApp  value to “Lync” – > close registry editor and restart Outlook
