Vivo is a Chinese technology company which has recently surface as a smart phone manufacturer. The company develops software for its phones, distributed through its Vivo App Store with iManager included in their proprietary.
In this article, we will look at an in-depth comparison between two smart phones launch by VIVO : The Vivo V15 and the Vivo V15 Pro.
Body and Display
The Vivo V15 Pro was launched in February 2019 whereas the Vivo V15 followed a month later in March 2019. The V15 has a screen size of 6.53 inches and weighs in at 189.5 g whereas the Vivo V15 Pro measures at 6.39 inches and has a weight of 185g. The V15 has a relatively larger body as compared to the V15 Pro.
V15 has a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 which gives it a pixel per inch density of 395. However, V15 Pro comes with a resolution of 1080 x 2316 pixels. Even though the Pro version has lesser pixels in total, it has a greater pixel per inch density of 404 because it has a smaller screen size. Due to this fact, the V15 Pro has a sharper and brighter display as compared to the simple V15.
Both the phones run the latest version Android 9.0 –Pie and the FunTouch9 skin, which is just a layer added on top of the stock Android version to make the phone more brand compliant. Other manufacturers also have their own versions which they maintain such as OxygenOS by OnePlus, EMUI by Huawei and ColorOS by Oppo.
V15 runs on the MediaTekHelio P70 (12 nm) chipset as compared to Qualcomm SDM675 Snapdragon 675 (11 nm) run by the V15 Pro. Both of them have an Octa-core CPU but run different GPUs. V15 houses the Mali-G72 MP3 unit whereas the V15 Pro has the Adreno 612 GPU.
Both the phones support and external microSD card of upto 256 GB of space. V15 comes in two variants if you talk about the internal storage space. It comes with a 64 GB or a 128 GB option with a RAM of 6 GB. However, the two options available for V15 Pro are better than the ones offered by V15. Both the versions have an internal storage capacity of 128 GB which can be coupled with either a 6 GB or an 8 GB RAM.
Both the phones have 3 cameras which work together using artificial intelligence to capture a single shot. The 3 cameras for V15 Pro have a working resolution of 48 MP, 8 MP and 5 MP respectively whereas the resolution for V15 is 24 MP, 8 MP and 5 MP respectively. Both of the phones also have a motorized pop-up selfie camera with a resolution of 32MP. For V15 Pro, the main camera can record videos at 2160p at 30 frames per second. However, for V15, it can only capture videos at a quality of 1080p at 30 frames per second as well.
Both the phones run on non-removable Li-ion batteries. V15 runs on a 4000 mAh battery and has the ability to fast charge, just like the Pro version. However, V15 Pro houses a 3700 mAh battery which is not a very huge difference since it also supports fast charging.
Both the phones come with stock fingerprint sensors, accelerometers, gyros, compasses and proximity sensors. The V15 is available in Topaz Blue, Glamor Red, Frozen Black and Royal blue colors where the V15 Pro can be bought in Topaz Blue, Coral Red or Ruby Red colors making it more exclusive.
The Vivo V15 is available for PKR 45,999 whereas the Vivo V15 Pro costs PKR 59,999.
Both the phones offer amazing features and performance. The introduction of the 3 cameras as the main camera is a brilliant feature which results in sharper and clearer pictures. Both the phones have a sustainable battery life which is needed in today’s busy world. It seems like the V15 might be a better option since there isn’t a lot of difference in the features but the cost differences by a whopping PKR 15,000. However if you don’t have any financial constraints, V15 Pro is worth every rupee.
